IMMUNOCHEMISTRY TECHNOLOGIES — Yorba Linda, CA

Award: Best of Best & Best Investment Opportunity

Pitched by Roger Anderson, CEO, on January 24, 2006

Cancer therapy efficacy, if you’re going to receive, are receiving or received therapy, you want to know if it should work, is working or has worked. Our patent-pending diagnostics, for use in the body or out, measure cell death. With our tests 50 million cancer sufferers will know they are receiving effective treatments. This will also reduce drug development time and save developers millions.

I’m Roger Anderson, Caltech PhD, and CEO of ICT with over 10 years executive experience. Our products use non-toxic, non-radioactive markers enabling clinicians using non-invasive imaging to measure efficacy.

We sell to the research market – tests at Eli Lilly, the 10th largest pharmaceutical company confirm our technology’s value.

Raising $3 million will help us achieve our 2006 goal, FDA approval of the external tests, and to expand operations to begin selling into the half billion dollar clinical market.

If you had cancer, you'd want to know.

ANASYS INSTRUMENTS — Westlake Village, CA

Award: Best Presentation

Pitched by Roshan Shetty, CEO, on January 24, 2006

We solve major bottlenecks in the discovery of new drug candidates and new materials which are tied to the resolution limits of the measurement technology.

We do this via our technology platform, protected by 21 patents, that can measure thermal and chemical properties at the nanoscale with a resolution that is 50 times better than the state-of-the-art.

Our founding team were senior managers at Veeco Instruments, the 400 million per year leader in nano-measurements and this led to creation of Anasys since the breakthroughs we possess are considered the Holy Grail in nano-measurements.

We launched our first product last November aimed at the accessory market. We have $100,000 in orders and are engaged already with 50 prospects so as to get to our goal of two million for 2006.

We are seeking one million to staff an engineering team so as to accelerate the introduction of our full-blown nano-analysis platform.

ADVANTAGENE INC. — Encinitas, CA

Pitched by Doug Jolly, Ph.D., President & COO, on January 24, 2006

One in 4 men will get prostate cancer, and 240,000 new patients are diagnosed each year. After initial therapy the cancer returns in 20-50% of people – and this is big trouble.

Advantagene’s therapy reduces the rate at which the cancer returns by a factor of almost 4, and is the first drug to act this way. The FDA has given this product fast track designation, and will help us design the pivotal trial, with approval dependent on a measurement taken only 2 years after therapy – a previously unimaginably rapid pace.

We need about 2.5 million dollars to design the trial, manufacture the drug, and finalize the agreement with the FDA. We have the intellectual property and federal grants of over 2 million dollars.

My name is Doug Jolly, I have 18 years in the biotechnology industry and I am President and COO of Advantagene.

If I had prostate cancer, I would want this therapy.

ALTOLINK, INC. — Lakewood, CA

Pitched by Maurice Khawam, CEO, on January 24, 2006

Aircraft theft is a half a billion dollar annual problem. It is aggravated by the deployment of stolen planes for drug trafficking, while the danger of their misuse against home land security is worrisome. Yet the 200,000 general aviation airplanes that account for 3/4 of civilian flights in the US have no reliable anti-theft or tracking devices.

Hello, I am Maurice Khawam, CEO of ALTOLink, a firm whose staff has decades of experience in commercial aviation.

We are raising $3.0 million dollars to certify and market our prototype based on patented affordable technology that recognizes unauthorized users worldwide and instantly notifies monitoring stations.

We have received some funds, and FAA certification is underway.

Other applications for this device include: boats, search & rescue as well as automobiles; in all a 6 billion dollar market.

CIVIL MEDIA, INC. — Long Beach, CA

Pitched by Jack Reid, Founder, on January 24, 2006

According to NPD Group, about 30 million U.S. camera-phone owners took photos with their phones as of October 2005. However, around 60% of users are still storing content on their phones, rather then using any sharing option. Getting the photo off the phone remains one of the biggest issues.

Civil Media has developed a patent pending mobile application that allows websites to generate revenue from camera phone uploads.

Our application uploads content to user's profiles on websites like, Myspace, Facebook, or Webshots, with a touch of a button. Our method monetizes the existing MMS picture message process, while making it quicker and easier for the end user.

Our partnership with Blue Label Mobile has given us industry experience and half a million in mobile software. We already have a major player in the picture-hosting realm committed. and now need $500,000 to take advantage of our unique position in the market.

DIGITAL ORDNANCE — Redondo Beach, CA

Pitched by Daryll Strauss, President, on January 24, 2006

I'm Daryll Strauss, president of Digital Ordnance. We help make movies. Since 2004 our systems have been used to make over 100 films, including the current hit "Chronicles of Narnia".

I changed Hollywood by replacing specialized graphics systems with commodity computers running Linux for the film Titanic. Now we're doing it again.

We've developed systems that display and manipulate film and HDTV content. Everything is displayed in full resolution, uncompressed, and in real time. They can be used in production, broadcast, advertising, and digital cinema.

The trick is having a very high throughput architecture. It also has to be easy to use, reliable, and interoperable with other equipment.

We do all that, on commodity hardware.

We've applied for patents on how we move the data and on the usability. Now, we're looking for $0.75M to expand development and sales efforts to reach the rest of the digital content market.

MYSHAPE INC. — Pasadena, CA

Pitched by Louise Wannier, CEO, on January 24, 2006

To women, fit and flatter matter more than size.

Women purchase $100 billion of clothes each year. Market research firm, NPD, surveyed 47,000 women and found half "hated" to try on clothes and more than half found it hard to find clothes that fit. The causes are: inconsistent sizes, unrealistic fit/design and less time to shop.

I am Louise Wannier, founder of myShape and former co-founder of Gemstar. myShape will be an online store for busy professional women, who spend over $1,000 per year; each member has a personal shop based on her specific measurements and preferences.

One thousand members have registered, and we haven't begun selling. Our patent-pending SHAPEMATCH system MATCHES clothes (brands and styles) to each member. Peter Whitford, former CEO of Disney Stores/Wet Seal, has joined our team. By combining ready-to-wear and mass-customization, we deliver flattering, distinctive clothes while making shopping effortless.

POKER AUTOMATION LLC — Los Angeles, CA

Presentation withheld by request of the presenter.

PRACTICAL INSTRUMENTS, INC. — Pacific Palisades, CA

Pitched by Brad Hines, CEO, on January 24, 2006

I love southern California. If you had our solar panels, you would too!

Our team of solar and aerospace industry veterans has slashed the cost of solar electricity by using mirrors to concentrate more sunlight onto smaller solar cells.

Unlike other concentrators, our products have the same shape and size as traditional solar panels, allowing the existing channel to easily sell and install them. And, our products are complete standalone solar panels that will cost half as much and pay for themselves twice as fast as today's solar panels.

We have several patents pending, and we'll ship in early 2007, targeting the predicted $500M commercial rooftop market in California and Colorado, places with lots of sunshine and generous rebates. We're currently raising $1.3M to build our first 100 units.

I'm Brad Hines, CEO of Practical Instruments, with a message that truly affordable solar is only twelve months away!

SHERPA TECHNOLOGIES, LLC — Pacific Palisades, CA

Pitched by Scott Mahoney, CEO, on January 24, 2006

On the entire computer screen, the only area not clickable is the window you watch a video in.

I'm Scott Mahoney, founder of Sherpa Technologies.

We created Compulsion, our patent pending software, that makes broadcast, Internet, and DVD video more valuable by making it interactive.

For instance, we have a cooking show producer ready to use Compulsion to hyperspot his videos so that every area can be made clickable: pots, pans, recipes, everything.

Even if he overlooked something, Compulsion will show him where his viewers are clicking, generating extensive market research data. And, because we add nothing to the original video file, he can exploit consumers' interests by adding additional hyperspots to his show, without having to re-release the media.

We work with Internet and DVD video and in three years, when broadcast goes digital; all set-top boxes could have this technology.

We now have several clients in the pipeline and we're looking for investors to help spread the word about Compulsion, increase sales, and implement more ideas.

WAKE POWER SOLUTIONS — Encinitas, CA

Pitched by Darren Hamilton, President, on January 24, 2006

The United States throws away $600 million dollars annually on ocean-monitoring buoys. Why? When 25,000 buoys, at $25 thousand each, run out of battery power, they become trash.

Buoy makers – along with 70 million Americans that participate in boating - have found that wind and solar options are unreliable and expensive.

But they are surrounded by the solution – ocean waves! Is it possible to convert the rocking of a buoy or boat to electricity?

Yes. Much like watches or flashlights that run off electricity generated by movement, WaKE Power Solutions has globally patented technology that converts wave motion to electricity thereby providing continuous power to water-borne devices – at 50% the cost of current methods.

I am Darren Hamilton, President of WaKE Power Solutions, and I seek $1 million in start-up capital. We solve water-borne device power problems and are preparing to expand our technology into the billion-dollar boating and buoy markets.
